Founded in 1982 in a garage on Hope Road in Mountain View, Johannesburg, Messaris Wapenaar Cole Architects has developed a proud reputation as one of Johannesburg’s premier architectural practices having grown into a robust firm of architects with extensive experience across a multitude of building typologies. With a head office now located in Rivonia, Johannesburg and a staff complement ranging between 20 and 30 employees, the firm has undertaken a number of the African continent’s largest infrastructure projects and is sought after globally for its specialised expertise in rail, port, mining and logistics Infrastructure.
The practice is managed and led by Jeffrey Cole, Andre Wapenaar and Leantheran Naidu, each of whom has a wealth of experience in projects both locally and globally. Whilst being a general architectural practice, each of the partners has a particular area of expertise. This is particularly pertinent in specialised areas where some work requires an in-depth knowledge of a specific industry or funding model and then the focused knowledge of the relevant partner in that field can be drawn upon.
